Chapter Awards
The Merced Chapter of Sigma Xi considers nominations for five awards annually.
Young Investigator Award: Recognizing excellence in research by one who has earned her or his highest degree within the past 10 years.
Distinguished Scientist Award: Recognizes international reputation, a record of excellence, societal impact and commitment to advancing science.
University - Community Involvement Award: Recognizes the active and ongoing contributions to the community.
Science Communicator Award: Recognizes outstanding and unique lectures, presentations and articles for public audiences and long-term commitment to science communication.
Outstanding Math and Science Teacher Award: Recognizes teachers with a distinguished reputation and a history of providing outstanding instruction in math and science at the elementary, middle and high school levels.
